In today's world, where society is highly digitized and the competition in the job market is intense, it has become imperative for higher education institutions to prepare their students with modern information and communication technologies. The need of the hour is to create an innovative educational environment that can cater to the needs of all users by providing necessary e-resources anytime and anywhere. This mobile information and educational environment must be designed to meet the research and educational requirements of all students, including those who are preparing to become competent teachers capable of adapting themselves easily to a modern educational environment. Recent studies by V. Yu. Bykov, Yu. V. Goroshko, M.I. Zhaladak, N.V. Morze, Yu.V.Trius, and other domestic experts have suggested that one effective way of improving the quality of education is through implementing mobile information and educational environments in higher education institutions. The concept of a mobile information and educational environment aims at ensuring that every student has free access (independent from time and place) to any materials from academic disciplines while gaining practical skills useful for interaction, knowledge sharing, organizing continuous learning processes etc. This approach offers several benefits such as effective use of modern technical learning tools; attracting the best educators; implementation and support for author's courses; ensuring purposeful development of students; among others. By creating and supporting a mobile information and educational environment in higher education institutions will bring University activities to a qualitatively new level enhancing its competitiveness in modern conditions.

    Abstract

The definition of the augmented reality concept is based on the analysis of scientific publications. It is noted that online experiments with augmented reality provide students with the opportunity to observe and describe the operation with real systems by changing their parameters, and also partially replace experimental installations with objects of augmented reality. The scheme for realizing the augmented reality is considered. The possibilities of working with augmented reality objects in teaching physics is highlighted. It is indicated that the use of the augmented reality tools allows to increase the realness of the research; provides emotional and cognitive experience, helps attract s…

Computers in Secondary Schools: Educational Games
Margarida Romero · 2020 · Arthur Tatnall. Encyclopedia of Education and Information Technologies, pp.1-4, 2019 · AI summary available
    Abstract

This entry introduces educational games in secondary schools. Educational games include three main types of educational activities with a playful learning intention supported by digital technologies: educational serious games, educational gamification, and learning through game creation. Educational serious games are digital games that support learning objectives. Gamification is defined as the use of "game design elements and game thinking in a non-gaming context" (Deterding et al. 2011, p. 13). Educational gamification is not developed through a digital game but includes game elements for supporting the learning objectives. Learning through game creation is focused on the process of design…

    Abstract

Mobile Collaborative Learning Games combine all the ingredients necessary to attract students' attention and engage them in learning activities. However, designing a coherent game scenario that combines mobility, game mechanics and collaborative learning is quite a challenge. In this article, we propose three game patterns that naturally integrate these mechanics in order to support educational goals.

Cooperative Problem Solving: an experience of high-school teaching updating
Carlo Maria Carbonaro, Alessia Zurru, Viviana Fanti et al. · 2020 · Physics Education · AI summary available
    Abstract

We present the results of an experience of teaching updating dispensed to Italian high-school physics teachers to promote the application of the Cooperative Problem Solving method as an useful strategy to improve physics learning at high-school level and to foster the development of problem solving skills. Beside analysing the method and discussing the ways to propose and apply it in a high-school context, the teachers experienced the method acting both as learners and as tutors of student group learners. Students and teachers evaluated as positive the experience, mainly focusing on cooperation within the group by information exchange and the application of a solution scheme. The ex-post ana…

Incorporating microlearning videos, online exercises and assessments into introductory physics
Ché Netzer, Alexander Mittelstädt · 2021 · Physics Education · Not summarized yet
    Abstract

We report on the evolution of the largest physics course at the Technical University Berlin during the COVID-19 pandemic, which boosted the development of online learning content, electronic assessments, and, not at least, the reconceptualization of our teaching methods. By shifting to distance education, we created features that can be easily implemented and combined with any physics-type course at a university level. Thereby, we incidentally made introductory physics sustainably accessible to students having difficulties visiting the university. Besides our experiences gained on blended learning methods, we provide a guide to online exercises, microlearning videos, and e-assessments, inclu…

    Ngan Sui-Ni · 2023 · Papernia - Multidisciplinary Scientific Journal for Innovative Research Vol.1, No.1, February 2023 · AI summary available
    Abstract

A sovereign, advanced, just, and prosperous Indonesia has been designated as the Vision of Indonesia 2045. A vision that encapsulates the great goals of a country in positioning itself both in an internal and external context as part of world civilization. This vision is at the same time a reference as well as a basis in the development of human resources (HR) to support its realization. The division of educational affairs between the Central Government and Regional Governments is a challenge to creating quality human resources. The Central Government on the one hand has the authority as a regulator of the standardization of the national education system. Regional Governments on the other ha…

How are these papers found?

We compare the title and abstract of this paper with those of every paper summarized on this site, and with the papers Semantic Scholar recommends, those it cites and those citing it (for a much-cited paper, its most recent citations and, from OpenAlex, the most cited ones). Among the prior work and the follow-ups, the papers that use each other in depth, a method it uses and the much-cited follow-ups come a little higher. The levels (very close, close, related) come from the similarity of the texts, not from a judgment of quality; * marks a paper without an abstract, compared by its title. The sentence under a paper is written by an AI from the two abstracts: check it in the papers. A paper marked not relevant by three readers leaves the list.
