The implementation of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) as an integrated management system is a powerful strategy for improving processes and products. To evaluate the effectiveness of LSS tools, an online survey was conducted with Portuguese consultants who were asked to select ten tools based on their frequency of use, difficulty in implementation, importance, and impact on LSS implementation. The survey included questions about the consultants' profiles and the companies they worked for, as well as the degree of impact that each tool had on their work. A procedure was developed to identify the know-how of consultants in establishing a ranking of LSS tools. The results showed that Honshin Kanri, VOC (Voice Of Customer), and VSM (Value Stream Mapping) were among the most important tools for successful LSS implementation. These findings are particularly relevant for organizations seeking to implement Lean Six Sigma as an integrated management system. By understanding which tools are critical for success, companies can focus their efforts on implementing them effectively and efficiently. The study highlights the importance of selecting the right set of LSS tools to achieve optimal results in process improvement and product development. It also emphasizes the need for ongoing evaluation and refinement of these tools to ensure continued success over time. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into how organizations can leverage Lean Six Sigma to improve their operations and stay competitive in today's fast-paced business environment.
