Abstract
We present optical photometric and optical/near-infrared spectroscopic observations of SN 2025wiu, a Type Ib supernova (SN) at z = 0.046927. The r-band light curve exhibits an initial maximum of approximately -18.2 mag, followed by a weaker optical rebrightening reaching approximately -17.8 mag at +38 days in the rest frame relative to the first maximum. However, the reconstructed bolometric light curve does not show a distinct second peak, but instead exhibits a reduced decline rate during the corresponding phase. The spectra consistently show Type Ib features without narrow emission components associated with circumstellar material. The late-time bolometric decline rate of 0.054 +/- 0.008 mag/day is faster than expected for complete trapping of 56Co decay. A radioactive-decay model for the first peak requires nickel mass = 0.47 solar masses, above the range typical of SNe Ib. A combined radioactive-decay and circumstellar-interaction model reproduces the full bolometric light curve with nickel mass ~ 0.38 solar masses, ejecta mass ~ 4.7 solar masses, and an effective circumstellar mass of ~ 0.10 solar masses, with the interaction contributing from the first peak onward. The lack of interaction signatures in the spectra favours an aspherical, disk-like circumstellar structure engulfed by the ejecta, in which the interaction energy is thermalized below the ejecta photosphere; the fitted circumstellar parameters are therefore effective values rather than direct measurements of the circumstellar geometry. SN 2025wiu demonstrates that optical rebrightening does not necessarily imply a genuine bolometric secondary maximum and highlights the importance of multi-band observations for identifying the powering mechanisms of double-peaked stripped-envelope supernovae.

SN 2025qe: A case study of diversity in low-luminosity thermonuclear explosionsH. Das, A. Dutta, D. Sahu et al. · 2026 · Not summarized yet
SN 2025qe characterizes a Type Iax thermonuclear explosion through optical light curves and spectra, unlike SN 2025wiu’s Type Ib rebrightening and circumstellar-interaction question.
Abstract
We present optical photometric and spectroscopic observations of SN 2025qe, a Type Iax supernova in IC 0529, monitored from $-10$ to $+150$ rest-frame days relative to $g'$-band maximum using the GROWTH-India and the Himalayan Chandra Telescopes. SN 2025qe reaches a peak $g'$-band absolute magnitude of $M_{g'} \approx -16.16 \pm 0.15$ mag, placing it in the sparsely sampled luminosity gap between the brightest and faintest members of the SNe Iax class. The multiband light curves show pronounced wavelength-dependent broadening at late times, with the redder bands remaining brighter than in other SNe Iax. Semi-analytical (Arnett) modeling of the pseudobolometric light curve yields a synthesize…

SN 2025aedz: A typical short-plateau type IIP supernova with rapid post-peak declineBo Wang, Lu-Han Li, Cheng-Yuan Wu et al. · 2026 · Not summarized yet
SN 2025aedz studies the photometric and spectroscopic evolution of a Type IIP supernova with a short plateau, rather than a Type Ib supernova’s optical rebrightening.
Abstract
Type IIP supernovae (SNe IIP) are the most common subclass of core-collapse SNe in observations. However, SNe IIP with short plateaus of the order of tens of days are rarely observed. The progenitors for this kind of SN can help to address the red supergiant issue in stellar evolution. In this article, we report optical photometry and spectroscopy of SN\,2025aedz, a rapidly post-peak declining SN IIP with a typical short plateau. It exhibits a peak absolute magnitude of $M_r=-17.16\pm0.03$\,mag. The $r$-band light curve shows a steep early post-peak decline of $\sim5\,\mathrm{mag}\,(100\,\mathrm{d})^{-1}$ followed by a relatively short plateau, with a plateau duration of $\sim50\pm3$\,d. The…

SN 2023iop: An Extreme 1987A-like Supernova and the Death of Very Massive StarsS. Schulze, Avinash Singh, N. Sarin et al. · 2026 · Not summarized yet
SN 2023iop examines an extreme hydrogen-rich, slowly rising supernova using broad-wavelength observations, unlike SN 2025wiu’s stripped-envelope event and post-peak rebrightening.
Abstract
Supernova (SN) 1987A showed that some hydrogen-rich core-collapse supernovae (SNe) rise slowly to peak, defining a distinct subclass. Wide-field surveys have uncovered more extreme members, such as OGLE-2014-SN-73, SN 2020faa, and SN 2023vbw, that challenge neutrino-driven explosion models. We present ultraviolet-to-infrared, radio, X-ray, and spectropolarimetric observations of SN 2023iop at $z = 0.1020$, the most extreme 87A-like event to date. It rose for $\gtrsim88$ rest-frame days to $M_r \approx -20.1$ mag, also placing it among the hydrogen-rich superluminous SNe, and radiated $\gtrsim4\times10^{50}$ erg. Its spectra resemble those of typical Type II SNe and remain photospheric at $\s…

SN 2026dix: a nearby, transitional Type IIb/Ib supernova consistent with a warm supergiant progenitorT. Szalai, S. V. van Dyk, D. Bánhidi et al. · 2026 · Not summarized yet
SN 2026dix studies a transitional Type IIb/Ib stripped-envelope supernova through photometry and spectroscopy, sharing SN 2025wiu’s focus on Type Ib-like explosions.
Abstract
Understanding the final evolution stages of (very) massive stars and their explosive outcomes, stripped-envelope supernovae (SESNe), represent a long-term challenge for astrophysics. The latest results support a continuous distribution within the traditional SESN subclasses (IIb, Ib, Ic). The nearby ($D \approx 17.5$ Mpc) SN 2026dix seems to be another member of the recently identified group of transitional Type IIb/Ib explosions. A point source is located at the SN position within the uncertainties on multiple pre-explosion {\it HST} images. Together with post-explosion photometry and spectroscopy, it provides a good opportunity to study a rare type of SN in detail. We carried out a thoroug…

The 91T/99aa-like Type Ia Supernova 2019vrq, Part I: Photometry, Spectroscopy, and Spectropolarimetry of a Nearly Standard CandleYi Yang, P. Hoeflich, J. C. Wheeler et al. · 2026 · Not summarized yet
SN 2019vrq analyzes photometry, spectroscopy, and polarization of a luminous Type Ia supernova, not the Type Ib rebrightening studied here.
Abstract
Among the various major subtypes of Type Ia supernovae (SNe), the luminous 1991T-like (Filippenko et al. 1992; Phillips et al. 1992) and 1999aa-like (Krisciunas et al. 2000; Garavini et al. 2004) events stand out as particularly important for constraining the explosion mechanism. Their white dwarf (WD) progenitors are thought to have masses close to or exceeding the Chandrasekhar limit. We present spectrophotometric and polarimetric time-series observations of the overluminous Type Ia SN2019vrq. Between -9 and +12 days relative to the light-curve peak, its continuum polarization is consistent with zero, as seen in most normal-bright SNeIa and despite a possible rise up to 0.2% toward longer …

SN2025aico: An Interesting Case Of $^{56}$Ni Mixing, Ejecta Asymmetries, and Dust Formation in a Type IIb SupernovaG. Davis, K. Medler, C. Ashall et al. · 2026 · Not summarized yet
SN 2025aico investigates a Type IIb stripped-envelope supernova’s ejecta, asymmetries, and dust using optical and infrared observations.
Abstract
Stripped-envelope supernovae provide a window into how massive stars lose their layers, mix radioactive material, produce dust, and explode asymmetrically. We present optical, near-infrared (NIR), and mid-infrared (MIR) observations of SN~2025aico, a Type~IIb supernova in LEDA~35384. Our spectroscopic sequence, spanning $+1$ to $+167$ d after explosion, follows its evolution from a photospheric phase exhibiting both hydrogen and helium features to prominent helium emission and, ultimately, nebular-phase ejecta. Using He I $1.083$ and $2.0581\,\mu$m transitions, we investigated the kinematics and geometry of the helium-rich material. Both transitions exhibit a three-phase, non-monotonic veloc…

Early Near-IR Echo and the Time-variable Mass-loss History of Type IIn SN 2024kgiN. Dukiya, K. Misra, A. Pastorello et al. · 2026 · Astrophysical Journal · Not summarized yet
SN 2024kgi models a supernova light curve powered by circumstellar interaction and infers circumstellar properties, applying related analysis to a Type IIn event.
Abstract
We present a comprehensive analysis of the long-term photometric and spectroscopic monitoring campaign of the Type IIn supernova (SN) 2024kgi. The SN reaches a peak r-band absolute magnitude of −19.81 ± 0.06 mag and a bolometric luminosity of ∼2 × 1043 erg s−1. We observe a break in the lightcurve at day ∼312, after which the luminosity decline changes from t−1.0 to t−4.5, likely due to the shock sweeping the dense circumstellar matter (CSM). We introduce a semi-analytical lightcurve modeling approach for CSM interaction in transients that accounts for variable diffusion time. We hence estimate a CSM mass of 2.34−1.6+11.8M⊙ , with a density profile of ρcsm ∝ r−2.74, indicating progressively …

A prolonged plateau-to-tail transition in the Type II supernova SN 2025abycLu-Han Li, Bo Wang, Ju-Jia Zhang et al. · 2026 · Astronomy & Astrophysics · Not summarized yet
SN 2025abyc tracks the evolving light curves of a Type II supernova through its plateau-to-tail transition, rather than a Type Ib rebrightening.
Abstract
We present optical photometric and spectroscopic observations of the Type II supernova (SN) SN,2025abyc. During the optically thick phase, which occurs approximately 10 and 70,d after explosion, its light curves show strongly wavelength-dependent decline rates of approximately 2.7, 2.1, 0.9, and -1 $ in the g, c, r, and $o bands, respectively. At approximately 70,d, the light curves begin to depart from their nearly linear plateau evolution and gradually transition towards the radioactive tail. A Fermi--Dirac fit to the well-sampled ATLAS o-band light curve yields a transition midpoint of t_ ̊m PT The interval between the end of the linear plateau and this transition midpoint is approximatel…

The thesis models and controls interconnected DC-bus converters, an unrelated engineering topic.
Abstract
The objective of this research is to analyse various modeling and control approaches for a common direct current (DC) bus-based interconnected converter configuration. Considering the basic control logic for power converters connected to a common DC bus, two-loop control, with the inner loop as average current control, is most commonly used. However, the presence of two controllers per converter makes the modeling and controller tuning processes analytically complex for a multi-converter system. To simplify the tuning process and reduce model complexity, in the initial stage of the work, the reduced-order modelling approach with mixed-signal peak-current control logic is analysed for distinc…
