In the paper "Weak-Measurement Elements of Reality" by L. Vaidman, a comprehensive overview is provided on the various attempts made to define the concept of "elements of reality" within the framework of quantum theory. The author highlights that most definitions of elements of reality share a common characteristic - being a definitive outcome resulting from a measurement process. This includes traditional measurements as well as pre- and post-selected systems, and measurements adhering to specific criteria related to weak coupling. By expanding the discussion beyond traditional measurements, new concepts are introduced that contribute to a deeper understanding of quantum phenomena. The paper delves into the implications and features associated with these newly introduced concepts, shedding light on their significance in elucidating the nature of reality within quantum mechanics. Through exploring different measurement scenarios and considering weak-coupling criteria, Vaidman offers valuable insights into how elements of reality can be defined and understood in a more nuanced manner. Overall, this thought-provoking analysis enriches our understanding of quantum theory and challenges conventional notions regarding the nature of reality in this intricate scientific domain.

Abstract: A brief review of the attempts to define ``elements of reality'' in the framework of quantum theory is presented. It is noted that most definitions of elements of reality have in common the feature to be a definite outcome of some measurement. Elements of reality are extended to pre- and post-selected systems and to measurements which fulfill certain criteria of weakness of the coupling. Some features of the newly introduced concepts are discussed.
