Abstract: The objective of software-defined networking (SDN) is to reduce costs by virtualization, automation and simplification. The SDN market is fairly difficult to predict, because while demand is high, so too are the costs involved in making the move to this new architecture. Urbanization also takes account of cost factors, leading people to use the physical machines at night, and migrate the virtual machines, having them go all around the world in the space of 24 hours to stay in night mode. The southbound interface is situated between the controller and the devices on the virtualization plane. The purpose of network functions virtualization (NFV) is to decouple the network functions from the network equipment. Open NFV encourages cooperation between manufacturers, with the aim of driving NFV forward and ensuring consistency, performance and interoperability between virtualized network infrastructures. The application layer is essentially formed of Clouds that contain the application virtual machines.
