The paper also presents a review of optimization approaches applied in the fields of science and technology, incorporating modern optimization techniques based on various peer-reviewed published research papers. It emphasizes non-conventional energy and distributed power generating systems along with the deregulated and regulated environment. Additionally, this paper critically reviews the performance and capability of micellar enhanced ultrafiltration (MEUF) process in the treatment of dye wastewater. The review presents evidence of simultaneous removal of co-existing pollutants and explores the feasibility and efficiency of using biosurfactant instead of chemical surfactant. Furthermore, it proposes a novel firm-regulator-consumer interaction framework to study operations decisions and interactive cooperation considering the interactions among three agents through a comprehensive literature review on sustainable operations management. This framework provides support for exploring future research opportunities. In terms of historical context, Greece has a rich history in wastewater management dating back to ancient civilizations such as Minoan civilization around 3200 BC which contributed to advancements in wastewater management practices. Overall, this paper offers valuable insights into sustainable operations management, optimization techniques for decarbonization, innovative wastewater treatment methods, and potential avenues for future research which can contribute to Europe's climate neutrality ambition by providing practical strategies for reducing carbon emissions across various sectors while promoting sustainability.
This is a book that talks about how to do things in a way that helps the environment and doesn't hurt it. It also talks about ways to clean up dirty water. The book looks at different ways to make things better, like buildings, energy, factories, and transportation. It also talks about using computers and technology to help with these things. The book mentions some special ways to make electricity and how they can be used in different places. It also talks about a special way to clean up water that has dye in it. The book says that people who make decisions, the government, and the people who use things need to work together. The book also talks about how people have been cleaning up water for a very long time in Greece. Overall, this book has lots of good ideas for making things better for the environment."

Sustainable Operations Management, Optimization, and Wastewater Treatment Strategies for Europe's Climate Neutrality Vision
The European Union has set an ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. To achieve this goal, it is essential to reduce carbon emissions across various sectors such as building, energy, industry, and transportation. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of sustainable operations management, optimization techniques for decarbonization and wastewater treatment strategies in the context of Europe's climate neutrality vision.
Decarbonization Strategies
This study reviews effective decarbonization strategies that can direct governments' action towards a climate-neutral society. It explores the role of digitalization in decarbonization and presents evidence on how modern optimization techniques based on various peer-reviewed published research papers can be applied in the fields of science and technology. The review emphasizes non-conventional energy sources such as distributed power generating systems along with deregulated and regulated environment to reduce carbon emissions.
Wastewater Treatment Strategies
The paper also critically reviews the performance and capability of micellar enhanced ultrafiltration (MEUF) process in the treatment of dye wastewater. The review presents evidence on simultaneous removal of co-existing pollutants using biosurfactant instead of chemical surfactant which makes it a feasible option for wastewater treatment while promoting sustainability at the same time. Furthermore, this paper proposes a novel firm-regulator-consumer interaction framework to study operations decisions considering interactions among three agents through a comprehensive literature review on sustainable operations management which can provide support for exploring future research opportunities related to reducing carbon emissions across different sectors.
