The use of e-commerce has seen a significant increase in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with the advancement in marketing channels. This study aims to analyze the impact of business analytics and decision support systems on e-commerce within SMEs. As SMEs are becoming a priority for economies worldwide, understanding how these technologies can benefit their operations is crucial for their growth and development on an international scale. The research focuses on investigating the relationship between business analytics and decision support systems in e-commerce businesses by adopting a descriptive analysis approach and reviewing various scholarly research. The findings contribute to existing literature by examining the impact of business analytics in SMEs and providing a comprehensive understanding of its relationship with decision support systems. Additionally, limitations are highlighted, and recommendations for future studies are proposed based on the literature review findings. It is recommended that e-commerce managers record sales transactions and frequency data in internal databases to support data analytics. Converting e-commerce data into categorical variables is advised for better visualization in decision support systems. Academic researchers should consider limitations discussed in this study when conducting similar projects, while also being mindful of technological advancements that may impact future research outcomes. Lastly, it is suggested that e-commerce managers explore diversity-based methods when dealing with infrequent purchases or seasonal trends to extract meaningful insights from qualitative data for strategic decision-making processes. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of leveraging business analytics and decision support systems to enhance e-commerce operations within SMEs for optimal performance, improved customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth in today's competitive digital landscape.
