Résumé : The development of digital technology has enabled the emergence and expansion of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), which are transforming education through global accessibility, flexibility, and interactivity. This paper analyzes several platforms, their structure, the role of mentors, and the application of learning analytics. By searching citation databases and using generative artificial intelligence tools, relevant studies in the field were identified as the foundation of the analysis. An analysis of the most prominent MOOC platforms was conducted, with a more detailed comparison between the international platforms Coursera, edX, Future Learn, and the Croatian national platforms Srce and CARNET. The research shows that platforms differ in their use of technology, target groups, and approaches to mentorship, but they share a common goal: to provide accessible and personalized education. Personalized education is maintained through the role of mentors, reflected in communication on forums, AI assistants, and peer interaction. Learning analytics also play an equally important role, enabling precise monitoring of progress and adapting content to the specific needs of individuals. Alongside many advantages, the paper also discusses challenges such as privacy protection and data accuracy, which influence the development of MOOCs.
