## Summary

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies have become increasingly prevalent in the field of early childhood education (ECE), with a recent trend being the integration of AI educational technology. However, there is a lack of comprehensive survey articles discussing these studies. This paper aims to fill this gap by providing an up-to-date and in-depth overview of key AI technologies in ECE. It offers a historical perspective, summarizes representative works, outlines open questions, discusses trends and challenges through detailed bibliometric analysis, and provides recommendations for future research. The main contributions of this work include delineating the landscape of AI in ECE, providing a detailed overview of existing literature on the topic, identifying challenges, analyzing research trends using bibliometrics, and presenting a taxonomy to guide readers through the survey. The paper is structured into sections focusing on popular intelligent robots used in ECE and key AI technologies such as data mining, machine learning, and deep learning applied in ECE. Bibliometrics is highlighted as an effective method for analyzing publications related to AI in ECE. The study retrieves literature from the Scopus database using specific keywords related to artificial intelligence and early childhood education. By examining publications over ten years from 2010 to date, trends are observed through the number of publications each year. Overall, this paper serves as valuable introductory material for beginners interested in AI applications in early childhood education while also offering supplementary insights for advanced users. By addressing gaps in existing literature and providing a comprehensive overview of AI technologies in ECE, this study contributes significantly to advancing research and understanding in this important area.
