## Summary

, , , ,

We present a study on the conformal bootstrap of 1D Conformal Field Theories (CFTs) on the straight Maldacena-Wilson line within 4D ${\cal N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory. Our focus is on introducing an improved truncation scheme with an 'OPE tail' approximation to replicate the 'bootstrability' findings of Cavagli\`a et al. for the OPE-coefficients squared of the first three unprotected operators. Our methods yield precise results at a 't Hooft coupling $(4\pi)^2$, showcasing the effectiveness of linear-functional techniques with two sum rules from integrated correlators, providing a rigorous result of $0.294014873 \pm 4.88 \cdot 10^{-8}$. Furthermore, through machine-precision computations, we achieve a result of $0.294014228 \pm 6.77 \cdot 10^{-7}$. To facilitate our numerical searches, we compare and contrast the Reinforcement Learning Soft Actor-Critic algorithm against an Interior Point Method algorithm (IPOPT), shedding light on the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. In addition, we explore the implementation and soft extension of the tail approximation in our improved truncation schemes and review defect CFT in N = 4 SYM to provide a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical framework underlying our analysis. Our results without integral constraints showcase the intricacies involved in implementing algorithms and selecting appropriate truncation methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency in our calculations. Furthermore, we delve into specifics of both SAC runs and IPOPT runs to highlight key aspects influencing our results. Moving forward, we analyze and discuss higher CFT data, emphasizing the unreasonable effectiveness of SAC averages and delving into the role of effective operators in shaping our outcomes. We also touch upon the significance of optimization algorithms in driving advancements in this field. In conclusion, we offer insights into future research directions as part of our outlook for further exploration in line-defect CFT with improved truncation methods. Additionally, explicit numerical results are provided in Appendix A for reference purposes alongside flow equations outlined in Appendix B for a more comprehensive understanding of our methodology and findings.
